The School is Founded
Wajir High School opens its doors in Wajir Town under founding Principal H.A. Marshad — the region's first secondary institution.
Transformative Era — Principal John Ndirangu
Principal John Ndirangu leads the school through a defining decade of growth and discipline, instilling standards alumni still honour.
Boarding & Infrastructure Growth
The school expands dormitory capacity and teaching facilities — new classrooms, laboratories, and boarding blocks cement its reputation.

Wajir High establishes itself as the dominant feeder school for universities. Families across Wajir, Mandera, and Garissa seek admission.

Under Principal Adan Kassim Farah, Wajir High achieves a remarkable KCSE improvement — with nearly half of all university entrants from the region.

Wajir High is crowned champions in both Football and Basketball at the 2024 Wajir Town Sub-County Games.
60 Years — Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future
On July 12, 2025, Wajir High celebrates its 60th Diamond Jubilee, with the Alumni Association announcing a school bus donation.
